We would like to offer you a free version of DbDefence before you make the decision to purchase it from us. The free version functions exactly the same as the full version; however, the database encryption function is limited to a database size of 30 megabytes.

  • The software does not contain any ad-ware, spy-ware, or otherwise malicious software packaged with it.
  • The software doesn’t gather or transmit any usage information or statistics.
  • The software doesn’t analyze database information.
  • The software doesn’t doesn't connect outside and doesn't listen for incoming connections. Except at the moment of interactive license activation. Internet activation can be done from any workstation or mobile device.
  • AES encryption (128 or 256-bit) is performed by well-known and widely used OpenSSL library.

Q: Can I install DbDefence on a remote computer? What about Amazon AWS?

You need to run installer directly on the server. To install DbDefence remotely use Remote Desktop tools. DbDefence works on Amazon AWS. You must be a Windows Administrator and SQL Server DBA.

Q: Can I install DbDefence on Azure SQL?

Azure SQL service is not supported; however you can install DbDefence on Azure VM.
